Good descriptives create vivid pictures and let your reader enter and become a part of your writing. Whether in computer files, paper lists or on index cards; create your own descriptive database that you can easily draw on. I keep a pad with me and when I am urged on by a vision, I jot down the words describing that vision (ie, a tree, a soaring bird, cloud formation, etc) that I will later pull from in my stories.
